Rujeko Machinga-Asaolu

Dr. Rujeko Machinga-Asaolu, PhD, MSSW, MSCFT, MSc, CSW-KY, originally from Mutare, Zimbabwe, is an Assistant Professor at Boise State University and a licensed social worker committed to advancing the well-being of immigrants, refugees, and international students.

Her work focuses on addressing systemic barriers that affect marginalized and globally mobile populations, with particular emphasis on mental health, resilience building, and post-trauma growth. Drawing on extensive multidisciplinary training and international experience, she integrates scholarship and practice to support more equitable outcomes for underserved communities.

Dr. Machinga-Asaolu brings a strong commitment to empowering individuals and communities to overcome adversity and thrive, aligning closely with the mission of the Dreamers and Survivors Support Network.
