Opening Pathways to Brighter Futures

Our Mission

At Dreamers & Survivors Support Network (DSSN), we partner with underserved youth and communities in the United States and Zimbabwe to expand access to education, mentorship, mental health support, and pathways to opportunity.

We believe that a child’s place of birth should never determine their future. Yet in many communities, limited access to quality education, technology, and essential resources continues to prevent students from reaching their full potential.

Through partnerships with schools, communities, and institutions, we work to close these gaps by delivering practical, sustainable solutions that strengthen learning outcomes, promote well-being, and create meaningful pathways to success.

What We Do

Why We Exist

DSSN was born from a simple but powerful belief that no child’s future should be determined by where they are born.

Our story begins in a small rural village in Buhera District, Zimbabwe, where access to quality education, electricity, technology, and basic resources was limited. Like many young people growing up in underserved communities, our founder experienced firsthand how poverty and lack of opportunity can restrict a child’s potential. Yet through determination, education, and the support of mentors who believed in him, he was able to overcome those barriers and eventually become an Associate Professor at the University of Kentucky.

That journey inspired the creation of DSSN.

We exist because millions of young people—whether in rural Zimbabwe or underserved communities in Kentucky—still face barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential. We believe talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Our mission is deeply personal because we know that with the right support, one opportunity can change the trajectory of a life—and even an entire community.
